Our Story
It is said that the first silk fabric in Anatolian history was woven in Harbiye.
Harbiye, one of the indispensable stops on the spice route, hosted Sheikh Yusuf El-Hekim, one of the important names in history and also the first known weaver.
Sericulture, which was quite widespread during the Ottoman period, gave way to cotton production and weaving in the 1930s. Thus, silkworm cocoon production and weaving began to decline. Unfortunately, today it is on the verge of being forgotten.
The person who created history, with great genius, labor and patience, weaved the natural thread obtained from the silkworm cocoon, loop by loop, turning it into clothes that protect and adorn the body and covers that decorate our homes.
In 1997, we set out to revive this forgotten handicraft without losing its originality. We gave all our energy and labor 18 hours a day. And we continue to do so. In addition to weaving, we also planted mulberry saplings necessary for silkworm production. We increased the number of saplings from 100 to 15,000.
We transform the cocoons into yarn and then into various products, we do not leave any waste behind; we produce sustainably, ethically and environmentally friendly.
We continue on our path with the mission of carrying tradition to the future.
